Fourier Series

Description

A Fourier series is an expansion of a periodic function f(x) in terms of an infinite sum of sines and cosines. (Wolfram MathWorld) Three functions are illustrated:

• Box function: f₀(x) = 1, x ∈ [-π, 0] and f₀(x) = 0, x ∈ [0, π]
• Linear function: f₁(x) = x, x ∈ [-π, π]
• Quadratic function: f₂(x) = x², x ∈ [-π, π]

Instructions

• Press 'run' button to start simulation.
• Press 'r' to restart simulation.
• Press 'p' to toggle between pause/resume.
• No. of circles can be adjusted in the runtime.
• Functions can be switched in the runtime.
