Astroids

Description

An astroid is is the locus of a point on a circle as it rolls inside a fixed circle with four times the radius. (Wikipedia) In this simulation, it corresponds to the case when the number of cusps is 4, the number of astroids is one. Other variants can be constructed.

Instructions

Press 'run' button to start simulation.
Press 'r' to restart simulation.
Press 'p' to toggle between pause/resume.
Press 'c' to show/hide circles.
No. of cusps, no. of astroids and horizontal length can be adjusted in the runtime.
Symmetry and line checkboxes can be checked/unchecked in the runtime.
